In the world of Metaverse, AI and Robotics, the future seems to be held on the notion that virtual worlds will play a significant role in how we interact with technology, from a personal and professional capacity. So, in a world where we can create virtual new norms, what narratives will women have the power to create and what nuances lie with virtual landscapes and female identities as they try circumnavigating their own virtual futures?

Ethics need to govern virtual futures for women

Many of the difficulties we confront in the actual world today, such as race and gender equality, can be intensified by the Metaverse. There are many "grey areas" in the digital world because it effectively allows brands and customers to do whatever they want, such as design a model for a certain campaign or create a virtual character.

Real-world efforts cannot be abandoned by brands. Experts believe that when it comes to diversity and representation, not only do the same principles apply, but businesses must navigate contexts where rules and conventions are still being formed.

While the platforms bear much of the responsibility for creating safe virtual spaces, brands that enter such areas should think carefully about how their products and experiences will be experienced by women. Old fashioned notions of misogyny should not be transitioned to digital realms. Companies need to equip their platforms with safety tools, and there needs to be a conversation around policing behaviour at scale.

How can females create a new narrative with the Metaverse?

It’s important to know that just as in the real-world, virtual worlds can also offer the same challenges that woman face and breaking this narrative is something that needs work for women to be able to create new futures in the Meta. It's definitely not all doom and gloom, as women are now presented with an opportunity to redefine virtual landscapes!

There is a plethora of new chances for women to make an impact, whether they are just starting out in the profession or looking to make a career change. Web 3.0 is here, and virtual worlds are a blank canvas — an opportunity for women, not just men, to get in on the ground floor and make their mark on the Metaverse. There is a strong chance to create a better society if design in the Metaverse, gaming, and fashion technologies keep inclusivity in mind.

Women who are prepared to engage themselves in the global communities that are constructing the Metaverse will have access to a whole new parallel economy. It's now or never for women to take chances and leap in.
