Emma Roata joined HARMAN at the beginning of 2016, in the company’s automotive division. She started her journey as a software developer and has since taken on various roles, including customer interface and software project lead. For the past 6 years, she has served as an engineering manager, building a reputation for growing people around her to deliver in time and quality to her customers. 

Emma is a strong supporter of women and young voices, championing and modeling promoting an inclusive work environment. Her global role as a chairperson for the HARMAN Women’s Network (HWN) Advisory Board offers her the opportunity to promote and support creating a psychologically safe environment where people have the chance to grow. She serves as a site leader for the HWN Romania, understanding their needs and struggles in the engineering world and helping them work through roadblocks. She is a fierce advocate for equity, transparency and strong communication. 

Emma’s motto is: “If your dreams don’t scare you, then they aren’t big enough.” 

Fun Fact: A mixture of fitness addiction (loves weightlifting, having a personal record of squatting with 90 kilos), traveler to exotic places and live music lover.
