Hi Liat! Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us and for speaking at this year's European Women in Technology! Firstly, please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit more about you and your career to date!
Hello, I’m Liat Shentser, currently serving as the Vice President of Solutions Consulting for EMEA at Zscaler. In this role, I help shape and execute our regional strategy, driving growth while enabling our teams to deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers.
I’m passionate about leading with purpose—empowering people, fostering collaboration, and championing diversity and inclusion.
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building high-performing teams and leading transformation. Before joining Zscaler, I led the Field Enterprise Sales Engineering organization for EMEA and International at Juniper Networks, where I transitioned the team’s focus from a traditional service provider approach to a customer-centric Enterprise model. That shift drove significant growth, with Enterprise revenues surpassing those from SP and Cloud for the first time.
Prior to Juniper, I headed Cisco’s Commercial Sales Engineering worldwide, where I redefined the SE function from technical selling to value-based selling. This transformation led to the highest cross-sell and upsell performance across the company.
Beyond my corporate work, I’m deeply committed to social impact. I’ve served on panels such as International Women’s Day at the United Nations and with UNIDO at the European Commission. I’m a board member of the Bleeker Foundation, supporting the fight against teen pregnancy in Africa, and have led global volunteer missions with Habitat for Humanity in Nepal and Cambodia.
What are you looking forward to at European Women in Technology?
I’m looking forward to the energy, inspiration, and connection that European Women in Technology brings. It’s a powerful space to learn from each other’s journeys, celebrate successes, and have honest conversations about the challenges we still face.
I’m especially excited to engage with the next generation of women leaders, share experiences, and hopefully inspire others to own their voice and path in tech.
There’s something incredibly motivating about being surrounded by brilliant, bold women who are all driving change in their own ways.
What does the Leading the Digital Revolution theme mean to you?
From my perspective as a female executive in Solutions Consulting at Zscaler, Leading the Digital Revolution means being at the forefront of shaping how organizations securely embrace change—technologically, culturally, and strategically. It’s about empowering customers to reimagine what’s possible in a cloud-first world while ensuring security doesn’t slow innovation., It also means challenging the status quo: driving inclusion in leadership, bringing diverse voices to the table, and proving that leadership in tech isn’t defined by legacy roles or norms. To me, leading this revolution means showing up with vision, courage, and authenticity—because real transformation happens when people and technology evolve together.
What can attendees expect from your session?
In my session, attendees can expect an honest, engaging, and at times humorous look at the realities women still face in the workplace today—from persistent gender gaps to navigating outdated mindsets that wouldn’t be out of place in an episode of Mad Men. I’ll share personal stories, lessons learned, and practical strategies that have shaped my journey, all framed around three key themes: Not a Member of the Little Boys’ Club, The Corporate Arranged Marriage, and Sales Dialysis. Whether you’re early in your career or already in leadership, you’ll walk away with insights and tools to help you thrive—and challenge the status quo.
Why should attendees visit your stand?
You are invited to explore our culture, values, and exciting career opportunities—because at Zscaler, you’ll be part of a company that’s redefining cybersecurity for the cloud era. It’s a fast-paced, innovative, and mission-driven environment where you’ll work with cutting-edge technology, take on meaningful challenges, and make a real impact for customers around the world. If you’re passionate about transformation, growth, and working alongside smart, driven people, Zscaler is the place to be
What is your biggest prediction for 2025 for technology?
My biggest prediction for 2025 is that AI will fundamentally reshape both innovation and risk. As organizations embed AI more deeply into their operations, securing AI-driven systems will become a critical priority. We’ll see a sharp rise in AI-driven attacks—more sophisticated phishing, deepfakes, and automated threats that exploit vulnerabilities at scale. Organizations that fail to adapt their security strategies to this new reality will fall behind quickly.
Equally important is addressing the growing concern around bias in AI. If left unchecked, biased algorithms will continue to negatively impact women and underrepresented groups—whether through skewed hiring practices, limited access to services, or unfair decision-making.
In 2025, I believe the companies that lead will be those that not only harness AI’s power but do so responsibly—ensuring it is secure, ethical, and inclusive. Because real progress means protecting both data and people.
