Q&A w/ Nolda Tipping-Griffioen, Chief Information Officer @ University of Groningen
)
Hi Nolda, thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us and for speaking at European Women in Technology! Firstly, please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit more about you and your career to date!
I am Nolda Tipping-Griffioen. Currently I am working at the university of Groningen as chief information officer. I have over 20 years of experience in technology and IT. My strength is on the interface of organisational transformation and technological innovation in a sector that has an impact on society.
What are you looking forward to at European Women in Technology?
Yes I love seeing young talented people who are brimming with enthusiasm. I just turned 50 a few months ago and as I get older I find it even more important to give to the generations who are climbing up the ladder. This conference is the ideal opportunity to share experiences, inspire and also return to work with loads of energy.
What does the Leading the Digital Revolution theme mean to you?
As tech leaders we have a responsibility at work and in society to lead the digital revolution. This revolution will change how we work, but also how we operate in society. It is important as leaders that we leave nobody behind. Not only is this morally the right thing to do, it also makes good business sense to take along a large part of the workforce and society on this journey
What can attendees expect from your session?
We give the big picture of how this digital revolution has changed our hierarchy of needs (Maslow). As Tech Leaders we have a responsibility to make sure that our organisations cover all layers of the digital hierarchy of needs pyramid. In this journey tech leadership is needed from the boardroom to the shopfloor and the classroom.
What is your biggest prediction for 2025 for technology?
In all sectors digitalisation will need to become a primary process. CIO's, CTO's are needed in the boardrooms. Digitalisation will change how we work, interact and learn. It will change all layers of organisations. Do it well and employees and your organisation will thrive. Do it superficially and your organisation will be left behind.
Register for your place to join Nolda for her session 'The New Technical Hierarchy of Needs for Modern Transformation' at European Women in Technology on 25 - 26 June!
